Throughout the car audio industry Bobby Gately is known for his beautiful custom acrylic subwoofer enclosures.
In 1998, while working for a Palo Alto based bio-tech company and building custom car and boat audio systems on the side, Bobby was commissioned to build his first 100% clear acrylic enclosure for a local car audio vendor, Guru Electronics in San Jose. Guru Electronics went on to order hundreds of the acrylic boxes over the next few years and Gately Audio was born. Bobby continued to push the envelope and explore the various ways he could use acrylic and highlight the beautiful inner workings of his subwoofer enclosures.
Gately Acrylic subwoofer enclosures have evolved over the years as Bobby incorporated new techniques and pushed the boundaries in installation fabrication. Today Bobby uses engraved, resin pour acrylic not only in custom enclosures and under the seat perfect fit truck enclosures, but also in fabricated door enclosures, a- pillars, glowing roof panels, support beams and vehicle lift kit assemblies. There are no limits to what can be created with this gorgeous and strong material. If you or Bobby can dream, he can build it. Gately acrylic enclosures are truly a work of art.
